It is always wise to use a replacement tire with the same size as the stock tire for which you are replacing. The main reason for this is that the rims on your bike were designed to be outfitted with certain sized tires. Therefore, you need the correct size to fit on the stock rim. |

Hi there zappa6 I think if you change the profile of a tyre then it changes the handling of the bike, eg: feels like the front could tuck or be more stable....

hello again. i take it back about the handling with this 70 profile, its bad news at hi speed on bumpy roads, veary twitchy in deed, must go back to the 65. great on long bends but no good when it comes to hard rideing.

yep...it will be more stble through those fast sweepng corners, but will twitch a bit in short spints. if its a new tyre i would (my self) just ride through it ,,itll be ok really. Might make your bum twitch a bit too ! ;-) another trick might be to just back the rear suspension of a tad..(you have to play with this) its down to rider style. hope this helps...ive been there a few time and didnt want to put a new tyre on cos i got it wrong..i did always go back to the proper fittnng later, but its good to try new things! sometimes they work...18" to 17 rear on an nc30 was ace..but just to get a better tyre choice..this involed a wheel change too though. Different tryes have a huges effect to..i like the Bt range...but dunlops have a steaper prifile curve...worth a thought. Take care. Jon |
