hi there i recently bought an '87 GPZ600R trying to do a simple job like change the spark plugs as there dead This task seems impossible to complete, its a 12mm spark plug socket (actual size 18mm) However I have tried 4 different sockets and they all seem to be too wide to fit into the head, the socket seems to get about an inch in and then wont go any further and gets stuck. this is as you can imagine really really annoying lol Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the bike, or maybe my engine is just screwed, its almost as if the whole for the plug is tappered and gets smaller as it goes in lol anyway any help would be great thanks. |

Next thing you have to take note is the radiator and cooling system. Had a friend who owns a similar bike rode a 200Km twisties only to do an emergency stop just in time to watch steam bellowing out from the bike with coolant and water spewing out from the bike. |

There is a socket in your Kawasaki tool kit which came with the bike that fits perfectly. If yours is missing, try to located one at motorcycle wreakers. Good Luck Rocket.

Looks like some of you got ripped when you bought your sockets, I only paid a fiver for mine. I don't think I ever used the car type that came with my socket set, lol. You'll find that socket you got can be used on plenty of other machines though, from suitcase generators to petrol stone cutters to chainsaws, so it is a very useful too. Have fun |
