:o Just fitted a new battery to my ZRX1200R and have just noticed that the spec is slightly different, (Despite the guys at the shop assuring me it would be fine.) just need some advice on it?
The one that came off was rated 12v 14ah, the one just fitted is 12v 12ah, will this make much of a difference or not? :256

i could be wrong but i think the ah just means how quick the battery charges ie: your old one charged at 14amps per hour whereas the new one will only be 12amps per hour so i dont think it's going to make that much diffrence at all. anyone please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong :D

Hi Guys, That shop fitted a smaller capacity battery to your bike.12V 12ah means it can supply 12 amps of current at 12 volts for 1 hour (AH - amps/Hour) and the 14ah will be 14 amps for 1 hour Your riders manual will say what the recommended battery should be.

Ride safe.

RedRock nail it. The only problems that may occur are hard cold starts or a time when you may have to crank it over with stater for more then normal. This may hit ya in the spring when battery may not be fully charge or it's flooded etc.. Larger amp/hr.s will also support the lights and aux equipment longer.:pjy
