Hi All

Good to find a nice, active Kwak forum. I'm a Z750 rider from Trowbridge, been back riding for about 6 months after a two year break. Am 33 now and have been riding all kinds of stuff on and off since I was a nipper. After some initial relationship problems, Kim (my 750) and I are getting on well. She was too tall for me to start with, so I had to pursuade her to lose 20mm, so I could get my feet down :)

She's my first Kawasaki and I can't get enough of the sound. Even with a standard can, she sounds lovely at full chat.

If any of you are thinking about fitting heated (or any other kind of) grips, I have two words for you - Boiling Water. I ruined one grip trying to get it onto the throttle body. Gently tapping away with a rubber mallet, when 'ding', a wire pings out the end of the grip - bugger. Another 40 quid later and they are fitted and running well. Dip your grips in boiling water for a few minutes before you fit them - you wont need any fancy glues or epoxies, just give them time to soften up and you can push them on by hand - I didn't even have to use a mallet for the throttle side. It's also much easier if you actually remove the throttle tube from the assembly and soak that in the water along with the grip. I could push them together by hand and when things cooled down, the fit was rock-solid.

Ok, by now, you all probably think I'm bonkers. Thing is, I only fitted them about two hours ago and thought I would combine this intro with a bit of help for those who may find it useful.
