Hi there, Firstly I apologise if this has been covered in an earlier post but if it has I couldn't find it. I have a 2006 ZX6r and I have a problem with the front brakes(running braided hoses). I fitted braided hoses and went out before the jouney there was around 15mm of lever travel but after about 20 uses of the front brakes they locked on solid. The bike couldn't even be pushed I had to release the resevoir cap and pump the brake to try to de-pressurise the system in the end it released enoughto ride home just using the back brake. I spoke to a few people and they had never heard of this before but we all agreed a re-bleed of the lines was the 1st thing to do. This was done using brand new brake fluid which was stood for 3 days before use. After doing this the problem is still happening, system pressurises itself aftera few uses. Any one got a clue?????? Hope you can help. Cheers Andy |

Hi, I have to say that I have never heard of this before. However if the sytem was pressurised then the lever would flap around loosely as there would be no pressure coming back once the brakes had locked. Was the system working perfectly prior to fitting the hoses? Have you tried the old ones back on to check if the fault is actually with the braided hoses, It could of course be the pads sticking in the caliper, anyway good luck. |

All working fine before changing, old lines in the bin bugga..... Complete removal this week I think gonna clean everything. Bike shop near where I live told me to check the condition of the non return valve as it may be blocked. I'm baffled will try anything now. |
