My zx6r is restricted to 33bhp because of my age and i was just wondering if anyone else that has one could tell me if the power delivery i get is the same as theirs as i'm not sure if mine is behaving as it should!

There is good power up to about 4000rpm then at 5-6000 theres a massive flat area thats difficult to get through in the higher gears but once i reach 7000rpm theres plenty of power. Its really annoying cos 60-70 (ie cruising speed) in 6th is right on the flat spot area!

I just assumed before that thats how the restriction affects the bike but i rode my mates restricted 600 bandit the other day and the power through the range on it is very smooth not like mine that comes in bits. Maybe the restriction affects different bikes in different ways??

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Cheers.

hmm thats interesting to know thanks.

i now have a much bigger problem tho! the bike was running very rough and now wont start at all. i think its got a valve stuck with tar because the mixture is wrong due to the restrictor kit (i.e. too much fuel, some of which goes unburnt = BIG backfires!!). so thats the bike off the road for a while until i can somehow get that fixed. "!$%!
