can you take out the center of the exuast of a 1990 kawasaki zerpher and not screw up the back pressure on the engien and will it make it louder with out the baffel in the pipe.

Hello redneck Yes you can remove the baffles from your exhaust but with any modification to any exhaust system you will change the characteristics thus changing the back pressure and yes it will be louder Geoff

You could try it without the part to see what it is like, Modified exhausts can sound real nice, got a nice loud one that is also acts as 'audioble warning device of my approach' to other vehicles (or thats what i say to the police?). Ken

Your lucky to still have the original silencers mate. Mine disintegrated a long time ago. :rolleyes: The Zephyr I'll be putting back on the road soon, is going to have a Laser K2 stainless system, with a race end can. I had this on a previous bike and it is nice and LOUD. On a previous Zephyr I had a Harris 4-1 with a race baffle. Unfortunately I didn't put enough wadding in it, which meant it was not only very loud, but the back pressure was all wrong. I ended up putting a hole in 2 pistons. |
