For me it's a:
Z1000 - Eddie Lawson special edition,
GPZ750 (air-cooled) and
GPZ600R.

If its iconic then it'll either be:
the KH triples or the Z1.
The rank outsider would be the original W1

For me it's a blast back to around 1980 when I was still on Honda and running a CB750-4K, the iconic bike at that time was the Z900.
It was a stunning machine and out performing anything that my group of mates had at the time.
I was very close to getting one, when my first born put a spanner in the works.

Came back to bikes on a ZX9R which was awesome and a far superior machine, but it never could compete with those dreams of owning a Z900.

I think I would say the 1984 900 ninja aka 900gpzr.This bike defined what a sport bike is.People who don't know bikes when seeing a sport bike go by will say there goes a ninja regardless of what brand it is.I think it is a shame Kawasaki did not make a special edition 1400 this year to commemorate the twentyfifth anniversary of the first ninja.I know I would buy one.Bye now.

Having owned a KH400, Z1OOOH, GPz750 Turbo, GPz550 and a ZX-9R I would have to say a Z1. Even modern riders go quiet in the presence of a genuine Z1. :332

There are times in history when something comes along that changes the world forever. How much more iconic can you get than a ZZR1100, with this bike Kawasaki set new levels of speed and it remained the fastest production bike IN THE WORLD for 7 years.

Ever since then everyone else has tried to beat the benchmark set by the big Kwaks IMHO they fail every time.

I love the ZXR and ZX7's. The ZX7 front end was and still is the best in the buisiness. Last Carbed 750 to win a bsb. The ZRX is a future classic in my book too. :oop

Call me sad, but I really wish I still had my first big bike, which was an EN500 with belt drive.

I've never been a sports bike fan, but did enjoy riding my mates ZXR750, almost as much as he liked my EN! Which is saying something.

There's a 500 stroker triple hiding in a garage locally to me, that the owner only ever rode once and scared himself to death the first corner he came to....... - I keep dropping hints and eventually I think it may come my way B)

In the mean time I'm happy with the KLR, having just fitted an unknown stainless steel end can that came off the breaker, it now sounds like a 'proper' single! Fitted just in time for the neighbours kids to start revising for GCSE's :466

For me it must be the Z1100R, a real mans bike, (no offence ladies) But a pure muscle machine...
In Eddie colours of course.

I would say that the Z900 was the most iconic, although I have a real soft spot for GPZ's, and I have always wanted a ZXR750. Can I not just say all KAWASAKIS are iconic! wheelie

OwdBiker,

Hmm, sorry but somehow I think the old plastic maggot (CX500) has to carry the accolade of 'Desptachers Choosen Weapon' - a million couriers weren't wrong, and the CX engine is a lot easier to work on and sadly more reliable than the Kwak GT 4's.

I've gotta say there are more CX's still on the road than GT's, which is a shame as I really wanted to buy a new GT750 a couple of years ago to use as a touring bike, but then again I'm so out of date that I didn't realise they had stopped making them years ago . Thats what you get for having a reliable bike and no need to go window shopping :fdq

:D :D :D

a friend of ours in Paris has one he uses on a daily basis, rides it to work and rides it to various rallies in Europe.

He came to a rally in the uk on it the other year, and yes the fuel consumption is a big problem for us triple owners, long journeys entail many petrol stops and a fat wallet

He's found a cure tho for future rallies, get a bigger tank :pwq

I wish!!! I still think I was getting a good deal in Germany back in the 80's when 10 ltrs of fuel cost us all of 3DM - subsidised and tax free! Mind you back then I didn't have bike and the major outgoing was the kids . :D

I can't wait for the MoD to start releasing the 'multi fuel bike' that was developed in conjunction with the US Marine Corps - 80 mph and 200mpg!! :111 All wrapped up in a tasty KLR based frame :022 I road a an MT500 during my tour and found it fun but a bit breathless, never had a pop on a Harley MT350, but don't fancy one anyway... Bring on the next generation!

I seem to remember finding a magazine in the woodwork shop at school back in 80/81 when a pack of 20 No. 6 cigs advertised on the back cost 7p!! That must have been from the early 70's :tthu

So many to choose from but I think there would have to be two! Z1300 what a looker :441 and then ZX12r in black and gold same again just looks so good. Not owed any of these yet but best owed bike of mine would have to have been ZX6 J1. Currently I have ZZR600 and GPZ100s. :kawas

It`s got to be the Z1. I had one in late 70`s, Second choice would be the GPZ 1100 B2. Had one of those too, kept it for 15 yrs.
