Hi,
The Z1000 if you don't like sportsbikes or (in the uk) the 2009 ZX6R or Ninja 600R (in the US ?) is meant to be pretty special from what I've read.
Cheers, Kawasakifreak

Usual stuff like an exhaust, power commander and air filter will make the bike more responsive.

Uprating the brakes wiht braided lines, better pads and maybe wavy discs coupled with a good setup on the standard suspension should make the bike handle much better.

Not sure of the standard setup on the bike but you can't go wrong with the basics then work from there.

Suspension is always a good place to start!

I got the sport bars for my 650r from ninja 650 shop.com and they sit too low, brake lever hits the speedometer.need at least one inch riser with the kit. real comfortable though
