Hi Will, have you got a floating disc on on side? If you have, is it distorted? Just a thought . If it is it might push the pistons back a bit , hence the rattle.

its the pads rattling about in the calipers from the sound of it , possibly nothing wrong or possibly a warped disc pushing the pistons back as john said , this can possibly be identified by a pulsing feeling at the brake lever and may even be visible when you look along the edge of the disc and spin the wheel , other way is to take em off and put em face down on a sheet of something flat like a sheet of glass

Hi Will Travel,

Standard disc's are semi-floating and some times the connecting bobbins between the rotor and holder can loosen up - seen it on my mates bandit.

Go round them and give them a tap, as long as it's only a couple you should be OK but if your discs are worn (under the 4.5mm limit) I would think about getting replacements.

Warped discs will show up as a pulse in you hand when braking (lever will be pulsating but hard to see) , to get a better feel drive with out your glove on for a while.

Let us know how you get on,

Mori!

:oop Hi, I had this on my rex and it was cured in 5 mins with a pair of pliers. The spring plate on top of each caliper, take it off and grab both ends. Bend em towards each other so that the gap on the hump bit in the middle is shortened. This plate keeps the discs nice and tight and the do loosen off after a while hence the rattle. Try this first mate and let me know how you got on. :711
