Hi there, First post here guys, just stepped up from the 125's to an ER-5, (someone informed me it was one of the easiest transitions onto bigger bikes). I have bought a 2001 with fairly low miles in not bad nick but its clearly been left outside at some point in its life. As i have a little bit of time on my hands i was hoping to restore and respray the body, frame and engine case where its in need of it. The Kawasaki dealer was shall we say less than helpful about paint codes. Has anyone had any experience with getting the codes or maybe knows the Black/Purple met (Body) Gunmetal (frame) and off gray (engine cover) codes i need? Have seen a few ER-5 and i think gpx/ex's with the same sort of colors around so i don't think they are that rare, ANY help would be most welcome, Thanks guys Chris |

Bike paint These guys are pretty good, however, iv had a quick look for your bike and cannot find it. Try dropping them an email, thier pretty good. Or if you are 100% sure its the same as a GPX or other model, search that one out. They do 2K paint on request aswell. All for reasonable prices, i resprayed my zx6r in kwak green for less than £30! |

Thanks, the ER-5 as you said is not on there but im sure its the pearl purplish black code they have on there, its only a small touch up job on the body its the frame and engine casing that need most of the work, that site does not appear to cater for those colors. Anyone else had any experience with painting frames or engines? Cheers |

I was told by the dealer that Kawasaki don't use paint codes any more, but i reckon this is a ploy to get you to buy stuff pre painted... I have used RS paints, for a sv i had, they did not get it right first time, but very helpful
