2007 ZX6 7PF Camshaft Problem

I was recently talking to a friend of mine who works for a local Kawasaki dealer. Apparently there has been a serious camshaft problem with this model. Mileage varying from 200 to 5000 miles.

I quote him as saying that "some sound like an old Cortina". He has worked on eight with the same problem and says that the parts cost over £1000 and labour is eight hours. I have only covered 1500 miles so I asked him to listen to my bike. He said there is a definate rattle from the top end.

Being concerned I took it to another dealer who said that they thought it was OK and that they all rattle a bit. I would be interested to hear from others with this model. Apart from this worry I am still thrilled to bits with mine.

hi I have the 2008 model same fault but with only 700 miles on the clock. I have been waiting for a month for the parts and the repair compleating. I am well hacked off with this, to the point I will be seeking an exchange through Kawasaki if not sorted soon
