ZR1100-A2 carb jetting

Doing maintenance on my CVK 34's. I want to free up the intake and exhaust abit and I'm concerned about jetting. The bike had (2) 97.5's and (2) 100's in the wrong order. I'm assuming the correct fitting of the larger jets on # 2 & 3 is for equallizing the temp? My selection for main jets are 98,100,102,& 205. Also, most carburetor mods include increasing the size of the offset hole at the bottom of the slide to 1/8" , why? Any comments will be appreciated.

sounds like your carbs have been altered before and someone has just stuffed any old jet they can find in coz i have always found the main jets to be the same size in all the carbs on the bikes i have owned , try a dynojet kit for a fix and bit more go

The factory service manual specifies a #98 jet on cylinders 1 & 4, and #100 jet on 2 & 3. This could be for the lean conditions of US spec bikes. I agree with you, if I increase the jet size I thought all the same size would be best.
Thanks
