Hi,
The 500 Ninja's a cracking bike (sold as GPZ500S in Europe) - very versatile, quick (for a 500) & reliable.
Performance figures when new were 60 bhp @ the crank, 120 + mph & 55mpg.
Early models like yours have the 16" front wheel - can slide unexpectedly if you push things on a very worn tyre - recommend Avons or Michelins in std sizes.
Regular oil & filter changes important otherwise cams can be shot by 50,000 miles - otherwise engine good for 75 - 100,000 + miles if looked after.
The next bit's rare but worth mentioning - alternator magnets occassionally end up buggered on earlier bikes like yours - buy a donor bike - cheaper than replacement magnets so I'm told !
Enjoy, Kawasakifreak
