Hey guys----I finally got around to asking this. My son and I have been working on his w650----I went to put on some drag bars and discouverd the top tree bar clamps are 1in. and the contol end of the original bar is 7/8. I couldn't find any bars on the market that went from 1in. to 7/8th so I bought a 1in. bar and welded on 7/8th stock on the end-----it worked out great, but if he wants something else down the road------how come I see so many w650's with aftermarket bars? Do the exist, or are they all doing what I did??? Thanks, kerry |

Kerry, there's another way to change the bars. Buy replica BSA A10 bars, these are 7/8ths diameter so would need shims.these can be bought or made up from ally strip. The early W's had a higher bars than ones from 2003 onwards which had an undesirable effect on the front end stability on twisty roads, but is otherwise fine on the motorway. |
