Ever had the great idea to change ur own plugs well i was well up for it & all was fine to start. Tank off side panels away no probs. Plugs 1 & 4 no sweat. No 2 a little tricky. NB: removing the stick coils u need to be gentle DO NOT use any sharp tools eg: screwdrivers ect & try to prize them out. All u need to do is hold them firmly in a verticle positon, twist from side to side whilst pulling upwards. For plugs 2 & 3 this is where u need to be delicate & have a certain degree of dexterity. to remove the coils u will need to loosen the the thermostat housing & move it sidewase. This allows u to remove coil 2 with ease. For coil 3 u will need to really pull on the thermostat housing to get enough space to slide it out. Keep perservearing it will come out. Note I was getting really frustrated at one point & was thinking I would need to remove the whole thermostat housing including fluid & all. This was not the case, just keep fidling & moving & it will come:) Another important tool u will need to get the plugs 2 & 3 out is to have a 3 attachment setup & a pair of thin nosed mole pliers. You will need these to support each segment as u attach them to each other as u drop them into the plug ressess. The pliers also come in handy when u remove the plugs & tools. Good news refitting was much faster:) Finally, I know i can sleep well knowing that all 4 plugs are new. How many of u out the are sure that ur local garage will have left 2 & 3 well alone becuse of this hassle. Sweet dreams:):) |
