can anyone help, i've got zx6r f1 1995 ninja and just recently my exhaust as started smoking on start up. but once the engine is warm it stops smoking. i'm not using any oil as the oil level hasn't dropped. as anyone got any advice. thaks mel |

I don't know if you have had this bike for some time, or it's been sitting for a while, or this is a new problem. Also you don't mention how many miles (kilometers) on the bike. If oil is not coming down, then black smoke could only come from too much fuel, or little air, during start ups. You may try closing the mix pilot screws a bit see if it improves, but if not other symptoms, it may be time for carb thorough cleaning. Check also your air filter is not too dirty. |
