Hi, I,m new to the club. This seemed the obvious place to start, I,ve had 70 to 80 bikes I guess, I,m 56, and started when I was 9, owned all sorts, but never a Kawasaki. No reason for this, it,s just happened that way. However, a friend off mine is culling his herd of bikes and has one up for grabs and wants me to make an offer. It,s a 750 ZXR RR in truly super condition, not my usual sort of thing but it,s unusual and I have known the bike for years. Anyway, is it a drySunday only bike, or is it useable, and what would be a reasonable price, and no, I,m not saying where it is.

Thanks Mick, but is it useable, excuse my ignorance, but yes it looks pretty, but I,m used to bikes that you can go to the local on or put down 200miles if needed. Someone said that these RR,s are a little more.........highly strung, and I don,t have a clue as to what to pay for it. If it was a more run of the mill machine I would know what to do.

Sounds to me you need a bit more advice from someone a bit more in the know than me.The closest I ever came to an 750 ZXR RR was a friends neighbour but if I remember rightly he was a complete nutter :yty Sorry I can't help any better.

I suspect that in it,s day it was a nutter magnet, from what the current owner says it lights up quite well. I think they were homologation specials or similar. I have had a look in the usual places and have not found one for sale to get a feel for price. I have a feeling if the price is right it may be a future classic if not already. Anyway, thanks for your interest.

hello, I guess it depends how flexible and bendy you still are as to whether it is an everyday useable bike, if you can get into the required position and find it comfy then it's an everyday useable bike, sorry I don't know what it's worth but I reckon your friend will tell you if the offer is good or not, if they accept the offer without hestitation it's too high, if they refuse the offer it's too low :D

Hi Storm, I get your point, but it,s not me fitting the bike that,s the concern, but wether the bike would be happy with short journeys and flexible enough in traffic or wether it might be a bit peaky. As far as price, well, I,m not sure where to start. I do like the look of it though.

it's horses for courses really, it depends how you like to ride, Nick Sanders rode round the world on an R1 which included deserts etc. , it wouldn't be my choice for such a journey but it did him ok, won't your friend let you have a quick go on it to see what it rides like
