I'm seriously thinking of buying one of these 500 twins but I see some are advertised as 5 speed and some are 6 speed. I notice that the twin front disc models are advertised as 5 speed and the 6 speed are single disc. Can someone tell me if there are two models (I can't find any reference on this subject on the anywhere - web included). Even my local Kawasaki dealer in Bristol says there all 6 speed! Finally, if there are two models, which is the better - 5 or 6? Thanks Rod. |

my er5 has six gears and a gpz is a tuned version of it, so i would say 6, they probably say five because sixth gear is pathetic really, you go no faster using it, in my case i slow down, they have a nice grumble when you roll off the throttle, and mid range power is really good, check electrics regulary and use plenty of wd40. chris |
