Hi guys, Hoping you can answer this one for me. I have just put in a 2nd hand motor and there is a small hole (circular and about 3 to 5mm diameter) in the head in the middle of the centre fin between the fins on the head on the left side of the motor. I have oil leaking from this hole that I didn't notice on my other motor. Does anyone know about this hole, and can I seal it up? What is the purpose of it? What happens if I tap the hole and thread in a blanking plug? Will this cause any dramas to my motor? The oil seems to come out under pressure |

Found the answer and the problem.Seems that it is drain hole from the spark plug recess as they are deep in the head. The problem was no gaskets arounds the spark plug recess under the rocker cover. Put two new gasklets in and good as gold. Voila - no more oil leaks |
