Hi,
How do you know what the limit is when you skim an 82 z750L2 Cylinder head?
When I got the cars head skimmed there where indents on the face to let you know when you've reached the limit, but I can't see any on the z's head.
Thanks.
Fangy.

hi

ive done this a couple of times with a gpz750 and in the workshop manual you get a limit distance from the top of the combustion chamber to the top of the cylinder head face. Will try to dig it out for you if you want. You have to measure it with vernier callipers carefully but i went 20 thou past and it ran fine but the compression went up 10-12 psi when measured. Still running 5 years later!

hi fangy

will dig out the manual. You can have it if you wanna cover postage. Digital verniers are the best for measuring. Ill see if i can tell you the proceedure or give me a ring on 07739644367

Hi,
If it's a Haynes manual I've got one but I can't find anything about head skimming in it.
But If it's a clymer I'd take it off you? I don't think the Haynes is a very good manual.
I'm hard of hearing so I avoid useing the phone as much as possible. If it is a Clymer, let me know and I'll gladly pay the postage on it.
Thanks.
