Having issues with my 2000 zx7. Had a leaking fuel pump. Bought a used fuel pump from a motorcycle salvage shop. Hooked it all up and bike wouldn't start. I disconnected the hose to the carburetors to see if it pumped fuel when I turned the motor over an no fuel was pumped out. After I let go of the ignition switch I can hear a plunger type noise from the pump. Any help would be much appreciated. |

Is the fuel tank tap on? You Generally dont even need to turn the bike over to see if the pump is working. When you turn the ignition on the pump is primed and some fuel will come out of it. Sounds like it maybe sticking. The noise sounds like air/fuel returning. Id take the pump back to be honest. |

Thanks for the reply. Got it figured out. Had a bad connection. Must have been wiggled around too much while I was removing the old pump. |
