My 2007 - ZZR1400 has always, even from new, given a loud crack from the front head race area after heavy braking. During the guarantee period, when I complained about it, I was advised that there was nothing wrong with the bearings and that it could be the brakes or the forks and was not serious. Recently the dealer, Pidcocks in Long Eaton had a free bike check during a promotional weekend so my bike was checked, and yes you have guessed it, they have decided that the bearings are suspect. Does anyone know if this is a problem with this model or is there a probable other cause. The bike has never been wheelied. Delboy77 |

My 2009 ZZR14 had to have the head bearings replaced, so did a friend - so I'd say yes, this is a problem on some bikes. BTW, there was NO grease in the bearings. The dealer only wanted to tighten the bearings, so I had them replaced by an independent mechanic. Chris |
