Hi. I was just wondering if its worth buying a k&n air filter for my 99 zx6r and if its hard to put in? Ive had it dyno jetted, got a decent can and am waiting for delivery of my ignition advancer so will it help performance even more if i do fit a k&n? Thanks |

Nothing that you would notice. K&N filters are in general made of quality materials which is reflected on the price, and of course they last very long. They do allow more air, but they do so by simply filtering LESS. It simply has bigger openings than stock. |

Hi D1. For my two p worth K&N filters are the dogs danglies.... For effective engine tuning the secret is to get more out of your existing engine without going overboard.....for an engine to work more efficently and give out more power you need to get as much air in as possible..thats why tuned car engines have turbos...to get as much power out of a small a motor as possible. So if you put a nice end can on your kwaker the exhaust gases can get out quicker..trouble with that if you dont do anything at the other engine you only gain a little more power..so what you do is try and get the air in as fast as the exhaust gases come out..so you do the sensible thing..you fit a K&N filter...they filter just as effectivley as a normal filter but they do it in a different way....so yes you should fit a K&N filter to get the most out of your new shiney end can...just make sure you get a cleaning kit for your filter and clean it frequently as per the intructions... Crack on mate... Regards Deadwood |

Thanks Deadwood. No disrespect to Hugo but thats kinda what i thought. Didnt think K&N got their name by making poor filters to be honest. |
