Hi, has anyone succeeded in fitting a powerbronze hugger to a 2008 ER6-F? I am usually quite reasonable at such things, but I am struggling with this one! Instructions included with the hugger are scant to say the least and fail to show any diagrams. A picture saves a thousand words they say, clearly Powerbronze are not aware of this! Any helpful advice, greatfully received. Edited by kenreay, Sep 28 2011, 07:13 PM.

I take it no one has done this, never mind. I have succeeded, after sleeping on it. Just in case anyone else has the same problem in the future, the bit I was having a problem with, was the U shaped bracket which secures the hugger to the swing arm on the right hand side. I could not figure out if it went on with studs towards the tyre or away from the tyre. The answer is studs towards the tyre. The other tips I would give to anyone trying to do this are: Secure the bracket on the right hand side first, but leave it loose, so you can move it. Fit the hugger to the righthand bracket, again just hand tighten the nuts and bolts. Secure the lefthand side to the chain guard. Move the hugger to get the best/correct position, ensuring you have clearance with the tyre. I attach a couple of photographs, which I hope show this clearly. Would look better if the bracket was matt black to match the swing arm, I think, I might take it off and paint it later, but now going out on bike to enjoy it, the sun is shining! Tighten up the nuts and bolts. |
