Having thought I was the Jenson Button of the motorcyle world ( tyre saving, not anything else), I was very pleased with the way the Bridgestone Battlax BT-021 were wearing. 4700 miles on both and looking good for many more. But then on doing my usual tweaking/mods to help with what is quite a twitchy bike, it was pointed out to me that the tyres were very squared off, not only to the touch but in good light you could see the edges. It is always a learning curve for me - you guys are probably already aware of tyre squaring (obviously I wasn't). The tread looked very decent. Anyway, Michelin Pilot Road 3 's are now fitted, what a difference. Lot more confidence already, although I am aware I have to break them in gently for the next 100 miles or so. |

So far I'm hearing nothing but good things about Michelin Pilot Road 3 's from my mates who use them. Would love to know what you think as they were down. Personally I just changed from Metzler M3's to M5's on my 99 ZX9R. awesome sticky stickyness for road riding! Although my tyres keep going triangle rather than square... |

Only done a couple of hundred miles so far, but I personally think they are a big improvement over the BT's. Obviously that may change as they wear. My eldest swears by Metzelers and has just fitted another set to his SV. I almost went for the Avon Storms, but I confess, I think it was more the fact that I thought they looked good. Having read various forums I headed to Michelin instead. |

Got the 21's on my ZXR and oodles of life in the rear after near on 5,000miles , front has plenty centre tread but sides are past the TWI already I would say a great touring tyre with sport ability Personally I find them confident but don't give so much road feel.Have 92's on my ZRX they are around 3,500 miles and rear has plenty middle tread but well past TWI on both sides but still grips and gives great feedback , the front has plenty life all round - I throw the bike about at most speeds with out concern. I did use 90 Pro's which are fantastic for road feel and grip but last under 2K miles fr & rear If I knew I was going to do track days then these would be the hoops to use but feel the 92's utilize the same compound on their sides as feedback is much the same. Both bikes will be getting mighty big burnouts done before the next change
