I have just set my tappets on my kawasaki GPX 750R and set them at 10 mm inlet & 15 mm exhaust and no they are set from 8 to 12 mm intake & 12 to 17 mm exhaust as i dont have an 8 or 12 mm feeler gauge but found that i still have a rattle when i increase the revs ,on tick over it sounds ok so could this be because of the gap or another problem or just where and tear as it is a 25 year old bike ,thanks. |

hi, not to completely freak you out but had a similar problem and it turned out to be a broken valve guide and bent valves......may be worth checking after a recheck of the clearances, get your hands on some feeler gauges!
