Hi All! I just purchased a GPZ 500 on a "P" plate, a steal at £700 (only 21000 on the clock and it is super clean) Just fired it this arvo and noticed that the rear wheel is turning in neutral when its on the centre stand. I Popped in first and back to neutral again and it stopped, but after a bit, it was trying again. Anyone had any experience with this? - Praying it is something simple and ain't a new gearbox or sominc... Any words of Kwakka wisdom would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers SY |

Just to get techinical; The wet clutch is bathed in oil which acts as cooling media. The oil film causes frition between discs, specially when cold. That's why the wheel spins in neutral with no resistance.. That's also why the bike lurches forward when you engage first. It simply that when bike is on the ground the weight is too much for the oil film to overcome. Somewhat similar to a car with an autotranny in drive at idle.
