Hi, can you just drop the sump of or is that to much hassle? if so you can always drop the filter, replace with a new one, fill with flushing oil and run for 15/20 min, the little oil that remained in the engine will be diluted with the flushing oil so you can drop the filter and replace with a new one again, then fill with the new oil you want to put in it. but personally id do it properly. Why cant you remove the drain plug? to tight, rounded off or something else?) might be able to sugest a way round it :) |

Hi steve the reason i carnt get the drain plug out is because the bike has a 4 into 1 exhaust & it wont come far enough out before it hits the exhaust pipes iv tried to remove the radiator so i could get at the manifold but it would not move far enough to get at the nuts on manifold iv been told i can drain it by removeing the side caseing cover with the level window on but am unsure if this will cause any damage . |

that large round cover with the window in is the cluch cover, even if you remove it youll have to lay the bike on its side as the oil is much lower than the bottom of that cover. if you remove the bottom fairing youll find the pipes will have a joint just behind the bottom of the down pipes near the front of the engine, if theres no joint at the front of the engine there is a bolt on the cluch side with 2 hoses atached leading up to the front of the engine. this would be the next best place to drain it from though you might have to flick the starter button as this will be pumped out rather than drained out. you can see the area on the pic below.
