Hiya, nice to see a bunch of girlies hanging out here! I keep an eye out for female riders, but sadly, most girls seem to be content riding pillion... shame! Anyways, I was hoping you could give me some advice. I have an ER-6F with aftermarket handle bars that are way too sporty for my taste (and my back!). The stock ones were better, the grip on them is fairly straight. I'm quite short, though, and would ideally like something that has the same angle vis a vis the wrists as the stock bars, but is a bit higher up. The data on bars usually includes rise and pull-back, but I can't figure out the actual angle from that. Do you have any suggestions for handlebars that work for shorties on an ER-6? Or can you recommend a shop / dealer in London that stocks a variety of bars so I could try them out? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!! Best, evil |

Hmmm... Might I suggest some ape hangers? No I'm just kidding... If you're short, than you might look at some pullback bars, but I don't know how well that'll work on a ninja. The problem with pullbacks is that they change the steering geometry and force you to adopt a more upright posture, which is awesome if your bike is a cruiser... My bike is an old cruiser. 1982 KZ750-LTD with a slight chopper stance to it. I've installed some old used pullbacks slash mini apes on it. But I'm pretty tall. I tried sitting on a 250cc V-Star... My knees hit the handle bars, and I have short legs for my height (very long torso... kinda almost like a giant midget, ok well that's an exaggeration but still). |
