Hi all I am working on a rebuild of a 1980 z250 twin at the moment. Looking for spare parts that would suit. anything would be appreciated. The two in to one exhaust if pretty bad on mine. I would like to go original and have the single pipes down each side. Also my seat is in poor condition. Any advise from people who've done this type of project would be a great help too. cheers steve. |

Hi There, Z250 good little project bike, you have very little chance of a original exhaust, they use to fall to bits from the inside out very early on, Motad is your main or only option, you do get seats coming up on e bay every now and then, be patient, seat covers available PK Seating, Z power in Leigh have some spares just give them a ring, ask for Phil. Advise is free just ask. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-Z250A-SEAT-Z-250-A-/360827687451?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item540301921b http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-Z250-SEAT-COVER-BEST-QUALITY-FREEPOST-UK-/171058197577?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item27d3dcf449 |

While the forks are stripped drill a 1/4 inch hole in the retaining ally plug . Tap a thread in the hole to take a counter sunk screw then you can change the fork oil without a strip down . This is handy if you want to experiment with different weights of fork oil .I find 10/40 engine oil is best . The best way to sort out the exhaust is to get the twin down pipes made up in stainless and look for a pair of suitable pattern chrome silencers . A lot of parts from a Z 305 will fit . Brownies of Louth Lincolnshire were breaking a 305 recently just google Brownies Motorcycles to find them . |

Hi. Ive just stripped my z250 and I have two seats. One metal base that is a little ragged round the edges and a plastic based one that is really tidy. Lemme know if you're still looking. Cheers Bert |
