Hi, Wondering if anyone out there has done an air cone conversion from a standard box filter on a GT550? I want to spare myself the trouble of fitting my new carbs in with the tight ass air box. Is there much tweaking to be done? |

lot of experimenting with jet sizws, will need main and pilot adjusting, you might be lucky and find the old kits that had all the stuff you need in one, dynojet kit |

I'm an old hand at re-fitting GT carbs ! They are only a pain, in the rubbers have gone hard between the carbs and the airbox. last set I done, I fought on and off for two days. Tried standing the boots in hot water, hit then with a hot air gun, it was having none of it !! New boots, at a cost of £40 delivered, and I had the carbs in, hooked up and running, in under 30 minutes ! That's got to be cheaper and less pain than going through a re-jet ?? |

i looked at some dynojets on fleabay. looks complicated. mine is a 99 gt550, but the kits only go to 96, which would probably do, but i might just stick with the stock air as the gain/loss of performance is an iffy one.. guess I'll have to wrestle around the air box again! "oops" |
